Ombre Snowflake Nails

While I love keeping my nails shellac-ed with pretty nail art, I often have 0 ideas about what I should do when I actually sit down to do my nails. This is one of the many reasons I love Instagram - I can follow great nail artists while also seeing nail art from other non-professionals like me.

It’s no secret that my current favorite brand of stamping plates is Lina Nail Art Supplies, so their Instagram is one of the first places I tend to look for inspiration. They shared some awesome ombre snowflake nails by CopyCatClaws and I just had to replicate them.

How did I do it?

  1. Prep nails - remove old shellac, file, push back cuticles, dehydrate using acetone.

  2. Apply shellac base coat and cure.

  3. Apply two layers of Cream Puff color coat shellac, curing in between each layer.

  4. Using Lecente Neons nail pigment powder: apply Snakebite (hot pink) to the top half of each nail and Hip Hop (electric blue) to the lower half of each nail. Blend in the middle of the nail for a purple hue.

  5. Apply a thin coat of Xpress5 top coat and cure.

  6. Using black stamping polish and Lina Nail Art Supplies’ Winter 01 plate, stamp snowflake design on each nail.

  7. Top coat and cure.
