I'm a Midwestern girl living life in the Pacific Northwest.  I'm lucky to be married to my college sweetheart, Jeff, who is both a software engineer and an amazing home cook.  I also have three feline furry family members (and one waiting for me over the rainbow bridge) that I adore.  Most importantly, I'm a food lover, crocheter, crafter, and nail art enthusiast.

About Orange & Shiny

I started this blog back in July 2012 to share things I found interesting (aka "shiny") like crafts, food, technology, etc. My weekly posting schedule helped me discover my love of crafting, specifically crocheting, and made me want to share more about my experiences traveling, eating/cooking, and exploring the world around me.  I intended to start an Orange & Shiny Etsy business to sell animals from the amigurumi collection I designed, but it did not work out the way I had hoped. Orange & Shiny will remain a place to document “shiny” things for now, but you never know what the future will hold.
