Birthday Eats 2021

My birthday was last week and I’m happy to report it was much better than last year.

  1. We went to Jade Garden for dim sum just like last year, but this time we got to eat inside the restaurant. It felt so good to be able to sit down and eat fresh dim sum with some of my friend family. We also had a fun discovery around the restaurant’s new ordering system - they deprecated the prior cart format (which I totally understand) in favor of a menu and ordering system you can use from your phone that launches straight from a QR code. It was well implemented and worked really nicely - I was surprised that we were just as satisfied with this method as the traditional cart method.

  2. It’s not a birthday without stopping by the Redmond Saturday Market to get some baked goods from Darlene’s Baked Goods. Her iced shortbread cookies are my absolute favorite! We also got Jeff a slice of carrot cake and a berry crumble.

  3. Jeff made Costco croissant bananas foster French toast with other breakfast food goodies for dinner. It’s a surprisingly easy thing to put together and it tastes great.

I’m grateful to have been able to see and celebrate with friends and eat all the things I wanted for this birthday. Here’s to another healthy and happy year!
