Las Vegas Trip Recap

We recently returned from a (very hot) trip to Las Vegas. It was a nice trip, but we had an unfortunate run in with a stomach bug that stole 2.5 non-travel days. This means we didn't get to go to a lot of the places on our list.

Day 1

We arrived in Vegas on a Saturday afternoon and immediately picked up the rental car, checked into the Vdara hotel, and headed to the Wicked Spoon buffet in the Cosmopolitan. I had seen this buffet on tv several times in the past couple of years and was super excited to try it out.

Cat + Cupcake = Catcake?

I haven't worked on a crochet project since March when I made the little lime people to take to my office. I decided it was time to start a new project as a going away gift for one of my coworkers. She likes sweets and shares an interest in cats (definitely not to the "crazy cat lady" level like me), so I thought it was only appropriate to make her a cat cupcake aka catcake. I looked around on Ravelry and didn't find a pattern I liked, so of course I decided it was a good idea to smash pieces from two patterns together.

Lina Nail Art Supplies Plates

I recently discovered a nail art brand I'd never heard of via Instagram called Lina Nail Art Supplies. Their Instagram is full of really neat looking stamped nail art. Further research indicated they sell a ton of plates with really neat designs, but I was hesitant to purchase since I've done that in the past only to receive plates that don't stamp well for whatever reason. I finally decided I couldn't live without the Make Your Mark 01 and Make Your Mark 02 plates, so I bit the bullet and ordered them. Spoiler alert: I was not disappointed with my purchase.
