Santa Candy Jars

My Mom bought some Santa candy jar kits over the summer and sent them home with me from our STL trip. I worked up an initial version when I got back and he’s pretty darn cute.

The kits came from Mary Maxim and each one includes all the needed yarn to make about 10 jars as well as a printed pattern (which was designed by Michelle Wilcox). I have been crazily crocheting the individual pieces for 20 jars and spent most of last weekend attempting to assemble them (we all know my least favorite part of any crochet project is sewing things together). I managed to make it through everything but sewing on the many beard curls before accepting that I had run out of time since I needed to include buffer for shipping the finished pieces back to Mom.

Admittedly, I had also set ridiculous goals for myself to get these finished and out the door and the burnout alarm bells were blaring (this seems to be a recurring theme that I need to work on). I was sad to tell Mom I couldn’t get these completed for her to give out this year, but I also know that it’s important for me to give myself space and grace this time of year (holidays/work reset season). This project is going into hibernation until further notice.
